About The Customer
AtLink Services is a wireless internet service provider headquartered in Oklahoma City. It has grown to become Oklahoma’s largest internet provider, serving more than 15,000 Oklahomans. The company is dedicated to providing exceptional wireless internet service to rural communities. Anticipating future growth, AtLink has been awarded several USDA Broadband Initiatives Program grants to provide internet service for the next 25 years to unserved and underserved regions in Oklahoma. The company was facing challenges in managing its inventory and assets as it grew and needed a cost-effective solution to accurately track its equipment.
The Challenge
AtLink Services, a wireless internet service provider based in Oklahoma City, was facing a significant challenge as it grew. The company, which serves over 15,000 Oklahomans and is dedicated to providing exceptional wireless internet service to rural communities, needed to enhance its processes and procedures to manage Inventory and Assets more effectively. The company was looking for a cost-effective way to accurately track the equipment used for providing wireless internet. The ability to track unique and industry-specific equipment was crucial. In their industry, equipment is identified using a MAC Address, and they needed to capture both a Serial # and MAC Address for each piece of equipment in their assets.
The Solution
After a trial period, AtLink Services decided to implement ASAP Systems’ Inventory System and Asset Tracking Solution. This system was found to be a simple solution for all of AtLink’s asset tracking and inventory needs. The system was flexible and easy to configure to the company's business needs. The transition to this new system was smooth as the company did not have any Inventory or Asset management software in place before. The learning curve for the dedicated employee for Inventory and Asset control was minimal due to the simplicity of the software. The system's Barcode-Based Asset Tracking and Inventory System created an effective Inventory and Asset management environment for AtLink Services. The highly configurable Inventory System allowed the company to configure data fields to match their required tracking needs. The Stock to Asset Feature was a valuable tool as it allowed them to easily identify serialized stock items and transition them to assets.
Operational Impact
  • The implementation of ASAP Systems’ Inventory System and Asset Tracking Solution has significantly enhanced AtLink Services' ability to streamline daily processes and effectively track inventory and assets. The system has created simple and easy processes that have helped to streamline daily workflow. Purchase orders are created and equipment ordered. The warehouse receives from purchase orders. Receive Receipts are reconciled with purchase orders and invoices. The Asset Manager moves inventory from Stock to Asset with documentation. The system has surpassed the needs of AtLink Services and continues to be a proven asset. The company now has the ability to manage and manipulate data effectively.
