The Challenge
Tablet Command, a provider of incident management and response software for fire departments across North America, was facing challenges in delivering real-time updates to firefighters during emergencies. The company's in-house solution for updates was not only time-consuming and resource-intensive but also lacked the real-time functionality that was crucial for their operations. The solution operated by checking in with devices every six seconds, which was not sufficient for the fast-paced, high-stakes environment of firefighting. The company needed a solution that could provide continuous, reliable, and real-time updates to firefighters, helping them respond faster and improve the outcomes of emergencies.
The Solution
Tablet Command turned to PubNub, a real-time communication platform, to power their incident updates. PubNub allowed Tablet Command to push in-app updates as changes were made in the platform, ensuring that all firefighters were updated in real time about their assignments. This solution eliminated the need for Tablet Command's dev team to focus on mastering and managing in-app messaging infrastructure, allowing them to concentrate on their product and roadmap. PubNub's global presence and proven reliability gave Tablet Command the confidence that their app would continue to operate reliably.
