Additionally, DenizBank wanted to simplify their backup process. The bank was using over 1200 tapes per year for data retention, which was not only costly but also complex and time-consuming when it came to restoring data.
The Solution
DenizBank, in collaboration with its IT division, InterTech, partnered with Hitachi Vantara to create a new storage infrastructure for the bank's critical customer data. The solution was based on Hitachi infrastructure and included Hitachi Ops Center, which helped simplify management and optimize performance. The bank also utilized Hitachi Global Active Device (GAD) and Hitachi Universal Replicator (HUR) for business continuity and disaster recovery. Hitachi Vantara's professional services team assisted with the implementation and data migration, ensuring a smooth transition. The active-active solution allowed the bank to seamlessly failover in the event of a site outage with minimal impact to users and zero data loss. Following the success of the project, DenizBank planned to move its backup to the Hitachi Content Platform (HCP) and subsidiary infrastructure to Hitachi Virtual Storage Platform E Series.
