The Challenge
Pay360 by Capita, a payment services provider, was facing challenges with its outsourced legacy infrastructure. It was slow to scale, unreliable, and difficult to manage. The company struggled to handle escalating customer demand and onboard new business. Availability issues and a major outage in 2017 further hindered their operations. They also had to meet the stringent security requirements of PCI compliance.
The Customer
About The Customer
Pay360 by Capita is a Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliant provider offering payment services to central/local government organizations and private businesses. Their customers include Transport for London, TV Licensing, local authorities, schools, and colleges.
The Solution
Pay360 decided to deploy HPE ProLiant servers with Nutanix hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) software. This solution offered scalability, high availability, and a single point of management. Nutanix HCI provided cloud-like on-demand scalability and a seamless adoption of new cloud technologies. The deployment included separate clusters for customer applications, secondary storage, and data backup and disaster recovery. Nutanix Flow enabled logical separation for PCI compliance, and Nutanix AHV hypervisor allowed unified management of the entire solution. HYCU Data protection for Nutanix was used for backup and disaster recovery.
Quantitative Benefit
  • The operational result section mentions reduced payment processing times due to low latency storage, but no specific quantitative benefits are provided in the case study.
