Company Description

Opti is building the Internet of Stormwater to protect our water resources.

Stellapps is an end-to-end dairy technology solutions company – the first of its kind in India. They are an IIT-Madras incubated company founded by a group of IITians and technologists with a strong industry background and rich experience including IIT-Madras, IIT-Kharagpur and IIM-Ahmedabad alumni, with over 18 years of Industry experience across Wipro, Nortel, Ericsson, Alcatel-Lucent, AT&T, Vodafone, Telstra, Bharti-Airtel, Aircel, Avaya, Cisco et al. Stellapps produce and procure comprehensive farm optimization and monitoring support, which helps dairy farmers and cooperatives maximize profits while minimizing effort. Stellapps is funded by Omnivore Capital – a fund anchored by Godrej Agrovet Limited and investment patrons include a large group of IIT alumni.
Founded in 1997 in Silicon Valley, Locus Technologies is a leading provider of enterprise Software-as-a-Service solutions, with a focus on environmental information, health, safety, and sustainability (EHS+S) compliance. We develop comprehensive software for businesses, organizations, and governmental agencies of all sizes and industries worldwide. Locus is known for its environmental information management (EIM) system— our industry-leading software for the entire environmental sampling and analysis workflow. Our Locus Platform software provides fully configurable, next-generation applications and services, helping our clients to better manage their EHS+S operations. At Locus, we believe the key to an organization's environmental stewardship strategy lies in its approach to data management— we design our software with this vision in mind.

Aptomar is a leading provider of Integrated Field Monitoring sensors, systems and services for the oil and gas industry. The company focuses on protecting the safety and integrity of people, the environment and assets by managing; 24/7 oil spill detection and combating, surveillance and security as well as search and rescue in close cooperation with Industry. Year founded: 2005

Weathermatic is the pioneer and the world’s leading provider of Smart Irrigation Controllers for commercial applications. SmartLink is a web-based landscape irrigation solution allowing landscape contractors and property owners to manage all their sites from any computer or mobile device and a simple internet connection. It also allows property owners to get real-time visibility to the water savings from smart irrigation.
ClimateMinder is a wireless climate monitoring and control system for agriculture. It utilizes machine-to-machine (M2M) mobile network technology to transmit actionable data from the field directly to growers' mobile phones, computers and control systems. The mobile technology enables farmers to receive alerts to conditions that may threaten crops and to take timely action - even when located at great distances from fields and greenhouses. Stormwater management is one of the most pressing urban environmental issues in the developed world. In the US alone, we discharge over 900 billion gallons of raw sewage into natural bodies every year due to combined sewer overflows. In addition, stormwater runoff can carry pollutants from urban and agricultural land into natural water bodies, resulting in eutrophication. Furthermore, due to urbanization, stormwater often flows too quickly into local water bodies, stirring up sediment and wreaking havoc on local species. These issues, and others, are consequences of the timing and flow rate of stormwater release. Opti automatically controls when and how fast stormwater flows. This simple intervention can have a massive impact on the health of our water ecosystem. Opti started in 2007, when we needed a better way to manage the water flowing in and out of a salt marsh in the Northeast. To solve this problem, we embedded a web server on a control board and integrated internet-based information into the logic for a pneumatic valve to manage the inflow and outflow from a salt marsh. It worked. The system achieved the goals of the NOAA funded research project, and it improved the health of the salt marsh. We realized then that the integration of on-site sensor and weather forecast information into control logic of distributed systems had broad applications for improving the performance of engineered environmental systems. But doing so safely at a citywide scale, would require us to adopt new approaches to infrastructure specification, information management, network communications, and software development. We began, and continue to develop, the platform we now know as Opti on the Microsoft Azure cloud because it continues to lead the way in robust, redundant, and secure cloud platforms. Along the way, we collected a strong group of partners, completed a three-year WERF research study, patented some of our algorithms, and deployed projects throughout the US. We were growing quickly, and the need was greater than we could handle inside Geosyntec Consultants. We forged a partnership with MissionPoint Partners and in 2014 struck out as an independent company to focus our efforts where our platform could make the highest impact - optimizing stormwater management.

Stellapps' innovative applications and state-of-the-art mechanization tools leverage Internet of Things (IoT), Big Data, Cloud, Mobility, and Data Analytics to improve Agri- Dairy supply chain parameters, including milk production, milk procurement, cold chain, animal insurance and farmer payments. Their SmartMoo™ IoT router and in-premise IoT Controller acquire data via sensors that are embedded in Milking Systems, Animal Wearables, Milk Chilling Equipment & Milk Procurement Peripherals, and transmit the same to the Stellapps SmartMoo™ Big Data Cloud Service Delivery Platform (SDP) where the SmartMoo™ suite of applications analyse and crunch the received data before disseminating the Analytics & Data Science outcome to various stakeholders over low-end and smart mobile devices.

Using proprietary technology and commercially available sensors, Aptomar merges remotely monitored sensor data into a single display and distributes it to create a real-time common operating picture. Experienced operators interpret the combined sensor data and intervene when necessary to alert and support the offshore operator in case of an incident. In 2014– as a response to numerous oil companies who want the industry to take a broader, more systematic approach to field monitoring – Aptomar established a new maritime control center in Trondheim, Norway. The center is called Aptomarin. Aptomarin combines 24/7 competence and monitoring capacity, with robust detection and an efficient and controlled emergency response management. Aptomarin consists of master mariners and professionals with extensive maritime and nautical competence.

ClimateMinder puts growers in control of the environmental and climate variables that impact the ultimate success of production. By monitoring and controlling to measured conditions in the facility, ClimateMinder can increase productivity and product quality, optimize growth patterns, shorten time-to-market, save water and reduce cost for nutrients and pest control. At the heart of system is ClimateMinder's patent-pending, GrowFlex™ technology which consists of two pieces (1) a self-organizing, battery or solar powered, sensor network in the field and (2) a wireless data connection to cellular data network - the same one available on your mobile phone. GrowFlex™ provides growers maximum deployment flexibility. Unlike other systems that require major field infrastructure, ClimateMinder, does not require a PC in field facilities and does not require deployment of wires between sensor nodes and Controller nodes, isolating potential damage from electromagnetic disturbances. A suite of environment sensors are available and have been certified for ClimateMinder.
