They plan the transportation system, decide on building projects, provide maintenance, procure services and are responsible for traffic information. In the early 1990s, the Administration introduced speed cameras, which monitor traffic on certain roads and photograph violations. The problem was that the cameras had to be emptied manually, which led to time-consuming administration and extra travel. The requirements for the new solution were higher: In addition to being connected to the cloud, the requirements for reliability and accessibility were extremely high.

MIIPS Unit is the hardware that connects to a building, vehicle or machine on the network. Different models are available depending on the context. However, all versions combine robust, maintenance-free design with reliable and open software and application. The MIIPS C Unit can communicate via fixed line and most known mobile network standards. And with Linux as a base, they are future-proof and open to app development.The software is based on Linux, which means that application development is also easy for third parties. In terms of communication, MIIPS C Unit is equipped for mobile standards such as 2G, 3G, 4G and Ethernet. It is also completely operator-independent. A fixed connection can be used as the first carrier and a mobile connection as redundancy, for example, to secure critical communication.The operating system runs with a CPU card that is monitored by a base card with its own processor that supports the functions. The unit comes ready to “Plug ‘n Play”, with standard configuration and a pre-installed SIM card upon request, making installation quick and easy. Specific configurations are then retrieved from the cloud.
