New digital signal processing techniques tap SPACETIME
The technologies behind the Mojix STAR RFID reader include innovations in iterative signal processing, spacetime array techniques, smart antennas, digital beam forming, and digital packet radio breakthroughs. These technologies enable the system to detect very faint signals across vast distances in extremely noisy RF environments, and maximize the link budget to give the system its unprecedented indoor receiver sensitivity, accuracy and range.

Unlike conventional RFID readers, the STAR reader processes signals in four dimensions — utilizing time, frequency, polarization and the fourth dimension of space in processing received signals from RFID tags.

Unprecedented read range, coupled with the low-cost Mojix exciters and advanced location algorithms, translates into the ability to accomplish something unprecedented—asset tracking and visibility—using low cost passive tags instead of more expensive and proprietary active tags. System monitoring alerts can also be sent to health monitoring systems such as IBM Tivoli®

The Mojix STAR reader’s ruggedized, weatherproof design ensures reliability in harsh indoor/outdoor physical environments, including environments with high condensation and wind conditions. The operating temperature range of -30 to +60 C is the highest in the industry, and the MTBF is a long 132K hours, or about 15 years.
