IoT GUIDE

1. INDUSTRIAL DIGITAL THREAD (IDT) TESTBED

Market segment: Industrial manufacturing, discrete & process manufacturing, automotive, aerospace, high tech.

Field personnels often lack data and digital insights needed to analyse large industrial assets during corrective and predictive maintenance activities. To collect information in design and manufacturing, the IDT testbed drives efficiency, speed and flexibility through digitisation and automation of manufacturing processes and procedures. It is implemented in multiple phases, intitially focusing on assembly of software stack and supporting multiple use cases later on.

2. SMART FACTORY WEB TESTBED

Market segment: manufacturing, industrial automation.

The Smart Factory Web aims to form a network of smart factories with flexible adaptation of production capabilities and sharing of resources and assets to improve order fulfillment.

The Smart Factory Web applies a dual plane 3-tier IIC implementation architecture with IIoT technologies on both planes. The upper plane comprises the Smart Factory Web portal to handle cross-factory interactions through gateways to the individual smart factories. The lower plane is a Smart Factory with a Factory Digital Image for secure, performant communication with the Smart Factory Web.

3. TRACK AND TRACE TESTBED

Market segment: industrial manufacturing, power tool fleet management.

The Track and Trace testbed brings the Industrial Internet onto the factory floor. The goal is to manage handheld power tools in manufacturing and maintenance environments, involving tracking and tracing the usage of these tools to ensure their proper use, prevent their misuse and collect data on their usage and status.

4. TIME SENSITIVE NETWORKING (TSN) TESTBED

Market segment: manufacturing but envisioned o be useful in a wide range of applications, including Utilities, Transportation and Oil & Gas.

Support of fast control applications means the network needs to support communications with low latency and low jitter and to provide mechanisms for distributed coordination or time synchronization. The goal of the Time Senstive Networking testbed is to display the value of new Ethernet, enabling a standard, single, open network infrastructure supporting multi-vendor interoperability and integration. The technology will be used to support real-time control and synchronization of high performance machines over a single, standard Ethernet network.

5. FACTORY OPERATIONS VISIBILITY & INTELLIGENCE TESTBED

Market segments: manufacturing of complex, composite products

Contextual and background data is often buried and in various formats, requiring large amounts of resources for storage and distribution of data. The Factory Operations Visibility & Intelligence (FOVI) Testbed makes it possible to simulate a factory environment in order to visualize results that can then be used to determine how the process can be optimized.
