The Challenge

EES UK Ltd is a Northampton-based support provider working UK-wide with a team of mobile workers in the Midlands, London, and South of England. With a mobile team based across the country, fleet managers and the HR team rarely saw the drivers in the office, so wanted a system that could effectively monitor their welfare, and also ensure that payroll, hours, and timesheets were submitted correctly. The company also wanted to better understand and improve driver behavior to create a safer working environment for staff and other road users.

About The Customer

Elevator Engineering Services (EES UK) is a leading engineering and manufacturing firm specializing in supporting the lift and elevator industry across the UK. Working with renowned lift industry leaders such as Kone and Otis, EES UK specializes in areas such as lift CCTV and security systems, lighting and electrical equipment, fire regulation compliance, shaft steelwork, entrance-ways and flooring, and lift removal. EES UK has a sheet metal workshop and steel fabrication workshop in Northampton, and is also a member of the global Lifting Equipment Engineers Association and is Safecontractor approved.

The Solution

Masternaut offered EES UK its Masternaut Connect telematics system to provide a complete solution for vehicle tracking, driver monitoring, and payroll information.

Masternaut Connect provides EES UK with complete accuracy on timesheets, payroll, and overtime. The system cannot be cheated, even if the driver idles for a certain amount of time, ensuring precise timesheets and accurate payment of overtime.

The vans used by EES UK are limited to 70mph, but Masternaut Connect still provides detailed driver monitoring data; alerting fleet managers to any incidents of speeding in lower speed areas, harsh braking, acceleration, or cornering.

Operational Impact
  • [Data Management - Data Availability]

The HR team now receives accurate timesheets as a result of Masternaut Connect providing detailed times about when staff started and finished work, as well as when they arrived on jobs.

  • [Data Management - Real Time Data Analysis]

Alerts for fleet managers about speeding and harsh braking events

Quantitative Benefit
  • 90% reduction in idling
