AstraZeneca needed to comply with country-specific regulations and equip staff with equipment to record product movement. They also wanted to provide inspectors and sales representatives with means to verify product status in the field. Concerns about the impact of a centralized database on scanning device performance were raised.

The Solution
AstraZeneca selected Honeywell Forge as the solution. Honeywell Forge Track & Trace solution was used to equip staff with handheld scanners connected to a central SAP Track & Trace system. The solution was also deployed on picking tables, forklift terminals, and mobile devices used by field inspectors. Honeywell Forge was chosen for its clear GUI, ability to process data offline, standard SAP connectors, and out-of-the-box integration with SAP Track & Trace and SAP WM/MM.
