About The Customer
The customer in this case is the musical team consisting of Butterscotch, a voice percussionist virtuosa and beatbox phenomenon, and producers Mischke and Neff-U. Butterscotch is a one-woman vocal symphony who beatboxes, sings, and plays guitar and piano. Her talent has captured the attention of audiences and musical insiders alike. Mischke is a Grammy award-nominated songwriter/producer who has worked with renowned artists like Michael Jackson and Britney Spears. Neff-U is a Grammy Award-winning producer who has worked with top artists like Dr. Dre and Justin Bieber. The trio was working together for the first time to create Butterscotch’s latest single “We Are All We Got.”
The Challenge
The creation of Butterscotch’s single “We Are All We Got” presented a unique challenge. The team, consisting of producers Mischke and Neff-U, and voice percussionist virtuosa Butterscotch, had great ideas but were constrained by their busy lives and travel schedules. They were concerned that these factors would hinder the creative process. The trio had never worked together before and didn't know what to expect when they got into the studio together. They were together for only a few hours in the studio, and they were worried that their busy lives and travel schedules would halt the creative process. The challenge was to find a way to continue the creative process despite their physical separation and busy schedules.
The Solution
The solution to their challenge was the Avid Pro Tools Cloud Collaboration. This tool allowed Butterscotch to work remotely with Mischke and Neff-U to create her latest single. Pro Tools was instrumental in the team’s fluid creative process. After their first session together, the artists did a lot of improvising. Using Pro Tools Cloud Collaboration enabled even greater freedom. Powered by the latest high-performance, secure cloud server technology, Cloud Collaboration allowed the group to work collectively even when they weren’t physically together. Butterscotch was able to share her session with Mischke in Pro Tools using the cloud while she was at home working on lyrics and he was in the studio. This technology provided a new level of creative freedom, allowing them to work together remotely.
